I commit to Macon It Safe.

As a resident of Macon-Bibb County, I believe in a safe and healthy community. I understand I have a role to play in protecting my fellow Maconites and stopping the spread of COVID-19. I want to support the businesses that are the backbone of our community and I acknowledge that my cooperation is key to reinvigorating our local economy. By signing this pledge, I commit to:

•  Wearing a face covering over the nose and mouth as required in the Macon Mask Mandate passed on August 25, 2020;

• Monitoring my personal health daily;

• Learning the symptoms of COVID-19 and getting tested as soon as any symptoms appear or after coming into contact with someone else who has tested positive for COVID-19;

• Washing my hands often, always with soap and water or hand sanitizer, for at least 20 seconds;

• Avoiding close contact with any people who do not live in my residence, meaning staying at least six feet away from others as often as possible;

• Avoiding large gatherings of people;

• Using curbside or online services where possible for restaurants and retail;

• Covering my mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing;

• Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces I frequently contact regularly; and

• Encouraging my friends and family to follow the guidelines above to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Macon-Bibb County.
