
My workplace commits to Macon It Safe.
As an owner/manager of a workplace or business in Macon-Bibb County, I believe in a safe and healthy community. I understand I have a role to play in protecting my fellow Maconites and stopping the spread of COVID-19. I vow to create a safe working environment for my employees, my customers, and myself. By signing this pledge, I commit to:
Screening and evaluating workers who exhibit signs of illness, such as a fever over 100.4, cough, or shortness of breath;
Requiring workers who exhibit signs of illness to stay home and seek medical attention;
Enhancing sanitation of the workplace and suspending use of shared equipment as appropriate;
Requiring workers to wash their hands often, always with soap and water, and for at least 20 seconds;
If soap and water are not available, then using hand sanitizer for at least 20 seconds;
Providing, and requiring workers to properly wear, PPE as available and appropriate for their job duties;
Enforcing the Macon-Bibb County Mask Mandate issued on August 25, 2020;
Prohibiting gatherings of workers within the business location and allowing workers to take breaks in areas where proper social distancing is attainable;
Implementing teleworking, staggered shifts, and encouraging virtual meetings whenever possible;
Providing alternate options for point of sale, delivering intangible services remotely, and utilizing contactless payment whenever possible;
Enforcing social distancing of at least 6 feet among people who do not live in the same residence;
Following the 20 Minimum Basic Operations outlined in the Empowering a Healthy Georgia Executive Order;
Following the guidelines specific to my industry outlined in the Empowering a Healthy Georgia Executive Order; and
Encouraging my fellow business owners, managers, and employees to follow the guidelines above to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Macon-Bibb County.
